Jay Ruiz
No One Dies Alone. My calling to this work began with my mom. I was with her through her cancer treatment and, eventually, hospice. Sitting beside her—sometimes talking, sometimes crying, sometimes just holding her hand—showed me how powerful simple presence can be. It wasn’t just about caregiving; it was about love, about witnessing someone with your whole heart. Those moments changed me, and they planted a seed I couldn’t ignore. I realized that no one should have to navigate this part of life feeling unseen, overwhelmed, or alone.
That experience is the heartbeat of my work today. As an End-of-Life Doula, I show up with compassion, calm, and an open heart. I walk alongside individuals and families during one of life’s most tender chapters, offering support that meets them exactly where they are. My approach isn’t clinical or rushed—it’s human. It’s sitting together, listening deeply, honoring stories, fears, hopes, and everything in between.
I bring a grounding presence shaped by mindfulness and deep listening, creating space for connection, reflection, and release. Whether we’re talking about legacy work, planning for the end of life, sitting vigil, navigating emotions, or even making sure a beloved pet is cared for, my intention is always the same: to bring comfort, clarity, and dignity to each unique journey. I believe all emotions belong here—fear, anger, relief, confusion, numbness, love. There is no right or wrong way to feel. Sometimes what we need most isn’t advice or solutions, but someone steady in the room—a companion who can hold the weight of what’s happening without turning away.
At the core of my work is a simple promise - I see you. I honor what you’re feeling. You don’t have to walk this part of the journey alone.
Whether you’re processing a new diagnosis, keeping vigil with someone you love, or trying to find your footing after a loss, you deserve support that feels gentle, present, and real. It would be my honor to walk beside you.
